Medical Assistants are a job that requires a lot of duties and responsibilities. Medical Assistants represent a large percent in the Healthcare Field. Their jobs and responsibilities similarize to the jobs of a Certified Nursing Assistant. MA’s are the fastest growing position in a Healthcare Field. There are different Medical Assistant jobs such as Administrative Medical Assistants, Clinical Medical Assistants, Ophthalmic Medical Assistants and optometric assistants, and Podiatric Medical Assistants. Medical Assistants should never be confused with Physician Assistants. In larger practices or hospitals, medical assistants may specialize in either administrative or clinical work.

Medical Assistants are a multiskilled healthcare professionals that are trained to assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with administrative and clinical duties. Their duties differ in the nature of the job. Some of their duties include: Taking care and recording the patient history and personal information, Measuring their vital signs and preparing them for blood work, Helping the physician with patient examinations and making sure they receive their next scheduled appointment. They also give injections when needed. They clean and sterilize the instruments the doctor or physician has to use and hand them to the physician/doctor.
