Destroying our beautiful world, God Created

God does not have to be introduced, as stated in Genesis 1:1. God creates, blesses, rules, mourns, protects, promises and he speaks to us and holds us responsible for our actions (Hindson and Yates 6). These things reveal God’s character and the way he wants us to live and take care of the world. We are made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 5:1), in our body, soul, mind and spirit. Our great potential and limitless possibilities as a person are constructed carefully and wonderfully by Him. Sin changed that image, tarnishing what God made to be perfect. By understanding the impact of that destroyed relationship, we can better fulfill our life, and receive more from our worship and prayers to God.

“So the creation of the heavens and the earth and everything on them was complete” (Genesis 2:1). Some people believe that the creation of the world could have taken weeks, months and even years, and not just the six 6 days described in the bible. When you think of all the beauty God created, from the pesky weeds, to the beautiful wild flowers, you can see the magnificence of God’s handiwork. The Book of Genesis tell of the beginning of the world that demonstrates that God’s work in creating the world is about more than just the creation of Man. It is also about the beautiful world He created, and we have slowly and carelessly destroyed. Everything from littering, oil spills, air pollution and many more destructive man-made activities has rendered the world depleted and abused. Humans act like this world is disposable and will last forever regardless of what we put it through. Reading from Genesis about the origin al of creation would help the world comprehend how sin has impacted everything (Hindson and Yates 6). He has proven to us He can destroy this world and everything in it (Genesis 6:1-8:22). He also can recreate and restore our world and us again.

We were made not only to be like Him...
