Should foreign investment in the U.S. economy be allowed?

In this paper I will argue why foreign investment should be allowed in United States economy with different examples that will support my argument. I will also include in this paper how foreign investment has impacted society today and what contributions have derived from foreign investment. I will address the different advantages that foreign investments bring overseas, and the main reason why foreign companies and subsidiaries invest in the United States economy. These conclusions will help support my reason on why I think foreign countries should be allowed to invest in the United States economy.

Foreign Direct investment is best defined as a company from one country making a physical investment into building a factory in another country (Understanding Foreign Direct Investment). Foreign investment can date back as early as the colonial times, when many companies and charters from foreign nations contributed and invested in the economic lifestyle of the American nation. One primary example of foreign investment would be the English charter of the Jamestown expedition. Most developing countries have had a profound effect in investing in the United States economy since the 1970’s. Since that time the amount of foreign direct investment has more than triple the original amount of foreign direct investment. In today’s society, most companies and corporations is now composed of a large portion of foreign direct investments.

Today the United States is currently the number one country that has a lot of foreign investment in their economy. Many of these countries that invest in the United States economy invest in different fixtures such as different fixtures, machinery, equipment as well as numerous buildings.
