Abstract

For decades the hotel industry had remained constant in its operations. From the way they were offered their services to the way it catered to the needs of their customers remained with the premise of "exceeding customer expectations." However, it was not common to develop the tools to adapt and anticipate changes that had to be faced. In the meantime, processes, the globalization and the development of new technologies modified the characteristics, patterns and needs of travelers. Through the experience was increasing its level of demand and taste for the quality service. With more and more competitors the industry has developed a greater awareness of their place in the market .

Introduction

Technology has become a source of sustainable competitive advantage and a strategic weapon in most industries , and hospitality is no exception. Hospitality business offers improvements in the operation and strategic management of the properties. Even the use of information technology becomes a requirement to make alliances as the integration of supply chains and the development of distribution systems and communication with customers. However, despite the importance noted above, it is not until recently that the industry has realized it cannot resist the use of information technology. One system that has helped the marketing of the hotels are the GDS (Global Distribution System ) CRS: Computer reservation systems owned by a provider tourism services. The system consists of establishing a centralized inventory

available seats on each flight, which is accessed directly from terminals in retail outlets,

Travel agencies and offices of the participating companies. GDS: Computer system which includes information several CRS. In the beginning was intended to reserve
