Egyptian Mythology & Greek Mythology

Introduction

All cultures around the world begin with a starting point and an ending point to life with guidance on how to live life within the middle. Egyptian Mythology and Greek mythology both us characters within stories to help the culture to better understand the world that surrounds the culture. Within every culture many stories and tales of conflict, hate, rage, and love shows the many different types of human behaviors that thrive within the culture and outside the culture. This happens by putting life into a general and easy to understand perspective. This will allow for every member within the culture to understand and hopefully create similar behaviors to that particular culture. The Greek and Egyptian Pantheons have many similarities and have many differences amongst one another. Within Egyptian Mythology & Greek Mythology discussed will be which world or worlds are represented within the two myths, the role of the cosmic occurrences or natural phenomena, and a comparison of the creators along with the creations of the two myths.

Within Greek mythology many different entities of worlds are described according to the myths. Creation starts with total uncertain earth that is in ruins chaos and then comes the birth of three immortal beings: Gaea whom is the Mother of Earth, Tartarus who rules the Underworld, and Eros who is the God of Love. Gaea then gives birth to Uranus who becomes the Father of the Sky, Ourea which is the mountains, then to Pontus, whom is the Sea. Gaea marries Uranus, who then becomes the ruler of all creations. Gaea and Uranus have children that are known as the “hundred handed giants”. These giants were the first immortal children that had fifty heads along with fifty arms. The next group of children Gaea and Uranus had are known as Cyclopes with one eye stationed in the middle of the forehead. The Cyclopes were equipped with craftsman skills.
