Executive Summary

The people that the company hires are the greatest asset of the business. The knowledge, skills, and ideas that individuals bring to the business are valuable and are what separates the organization from other companies. In order for the company to be successful, a structured hiring, training, and development plan is necessary to maximize the potential of all employees. The human resources department developed a job description for district sales managers (DSM), which continues to identify the qualities in individuals, by analyzing the needs of the job, in an effort to select the best district sales managers for the positions available. The job analysis will assist in the selection process of the district sales manager and assigning compensation by outlining the specific duties and functions of the job. After hire, DSMs will partake in a detailed on-boarding process, in which to introduce them to the strategic goals of the company, operations functioning, and policy and procedure via the employee operation manual. Further, the job analysis will assist in initial training, progressive development, and performance review of the employees. The DSM development plan will ensure the company continues to select and develop the most qualified applicants for the job.

A district sales manager has the responsibility of ensuring that the stores located within his or her district meet company sales objectives.
