I have always wanted to start my own business, particularly in the food and beverage sector. To fulfill my dream, it is imperative for me to gain a more in depth understanding of business, as this will eventually provide me with a firm foundation for my future venture. Therefore, I sincerely hope that I would be given the opportunity to build upon my knowledge by studying the Executive Diploma in Advanced Business Management in CUHK. I believe through learning the various moving parts of a business, such as accounting and finance, business strategy and internal management, my chances of success will be greatly enhanced. In addition, a successful business person needs to be a true leader with vision and sound strategic thinking, while being an effective manager with distinguished team working and organizational skills, all of which I hope to acquire from the Diploma course.

My first taste of real business comes from my current position as Customer Services Account Executive at LSG Sky Chef, a global in-flight catering company. My main responsibility is to manage customer relationship in a way that is consistent with the company’s strategy and vision. To achieve that, I constantly interact with my clients and strive to negotiate deals that are beneficial to both parties. All of these have allowed me to gain a better exposure in business and have led me to recognize the numerous opportunities arising from filling the need of the end-users.

Prior to that, I worked as a Project Supervisor at LSG Sky Chef. My role involves using different business management tools such as Six Sigma to improve the productivity of the manufacturing process. This experience has not only opened me up to the many aspects of project management, but also equipped me with strong analytic skills.

Yet I have never had the opportunity to take courses exploring Core Management of business. To realise my ultimate career goal, I clearly must enhance my abilities in these as well...
