Our earth has many different races of people with many different behavioral aspects. Race is not the color of a person’s skin, it is much more. People can have the same colored skin and be from a different continent, with completely different cultural beliefs and customs. These different races are what make up society today. All races and genders are needed for the full circle. Each different race brings something else to the table; each have their own way. I worked with a lady from Mexico that had a previous employer make a terrible statement about her race to her face and she quit the job. When she began working with me she still had anger about that and because I was white I think she thought I would be the same way to her. I also worked with a lady that was from the Philippines that had many encounters with people about her race and their lack of being able to understand her English. She was the sweetest lady and never got upset about what anyone said. She would tell me that she knew what she was and that was all that mattered to her. She was glad to be healthy and working. I think sometimes people do not stop to think about the impact their words can be on people. Some people are very touchy about their race and some people are ok with everyone. I love to work with people from different backgrounds; you really get to learn how things are in those places. Where normally you just have an idea from a movie or a picture in your head from a text book of what those countries would be like.
