The connectivity of baby monitors with wireless devices like smart mobile phones, ipod, ipad and computers has opened a new window of opportunity for this industry. The exponential growth n telecommunication sector is well responded by mobile vendors, which are introducing amazing products that ensure connectivity with many devices like baby monitor.

The smart phone industry is booming globally. The demand is driven by consumers growing interest in technology which is fuelled by manufacturers and operators (Latest Press Release, 2009; Press Releases, 2010).

Due to the heavy investment and strong commitment of mobile phone manufacturers and telecommunication companies the segment witnesses the impressive growth of 19.9% in 2009 [ (Smart phone market trends report 2010/2011, 2011) ]. There growth of smart phones in 2010 was 72% [ (ben-Aaron, 2011) ] . the growth does not seem to drop in near future as the market is expected to grow 24.5% in 2011 and The CAGR of the global smart phone market is estimated to be 22.1% from 2009 to 2014 [ (Press Releases, 2010) ].

The sales volume of smart phones in 2010 was 298.6 million mobile devices as compare to 173.5 million units in 2009. The jump in smart phones sales was due to the launch of many new models by almost all leading mobile manufacturers like iphone 4, Blacberry Troch and EVO 4G etc. (Gupta, 2010; ben-Aaron, 2011). The global sales of smart phone from 2007 to 2011 are given in Figure No1.
