The articles address the issue of whether teenage pregnancy is a serious problem, factors that contribute to it, how effective sex education programs are, social issues related to teen pregnancy and teen parenting alternatives. According to the book, teenage pregnancy remains a serious problem in the U.S which requires actions aimed at solving it. Teenage pregnancy is associated with a variety of negative consequences for the child, mother as well as the society. For example, families of teen parents suffer from stress. The book discusses some issues that lead to teenage pregnancy such as poverty, father’s absence and society acceptance often pregnancy. Rick, Lisa is a researcher who has written other books which address young adult issues. This makes her a credible editor and author to discuss this issue of teenage pregnancy. Lisa is able to cover the most current national as well as international issues in the modern day. In addition, she covers the most important opinions in past and also in the current world. Each of the articles contains primary sources written by the best authorities in their respective fields. Lisa has used a unique approach that gives students and educators concise views of different opinions on the topic.
