The four people I would invite to my dinner party would be: John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln and Joseph Smith, Jr. There is much I would love to discuss with these four gentlemen. The main connection between the four, besides all being leaders, is that they were all assassinated, so their deaths would be one topic of discussion. Along those lines I would ask each of them if, knowing how and when they were going to die, they would have done anything differently. I would also lead the dinner discussion to focus on religion, civil rights, and politics.

Each of the four will be forever known as charismatic leaders. Kennedy, King and Lincoln have given some of the most famous speeches in United States history. Kennedy used his youthful energy to his advantage and his admonition to Americans to "ask what you can do for your country" in his inaugural address still echoes today. King's uncanny ability to speak gave people the hope, faith and courage to enact change peacefully and his "I have a dream" speech will be forever remembered. Lincoln essentially altered the constitution in just 272 words in his Gettysburg Address giving the nation a "new birth of freedom". Joseph Smith, while not as widely known as those previously mentioned, was arguably one of the most charismatic and influential religious figures in American history, known for founding the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, popularly known as the Mormons.

America has greatly benefited from the lives of these four men but I believe if these men were allowed to have lived longer, there is much more knowledge we could have gained from them. Kennedy, King, Lincoln, and Smith were all killed by gunshots. It would be interesting to hear each of them recount their last day and find out if they felt any impressions that that day would be their last or even if they were aware of any chatter that an incident could occur.
