“Hey! Give me back my marker!” These were the words I yelled as I repeatedly hit the boy sitting next to me, as he started to write on his dry erase board with the marker he stole from me. As my hits grew increasingly harder, he just gently shoved my hands off of him and calmly said, “Wait I am using it.” I then sat there quietly listening to my third grade teacher call out the definition to the words we each were suppose to be writing down on our boards. When I looked over at the boy in anger, I saw another classmate, whom I had never met, lean over and whisper “Trevon giver her back her marker.” Trevon looked up at the girl and yelled, “No she can wait!” After his response, I looked over at the mysterious girl and she had a look of complete shock on her face. In response, she drew back her right fist and hit him two times in the arm. “Fine, okay!”’ yelled Trevon as he handed me the marker. I snatched the marker from his hand and turned to the girl. “Thank you”, I said. “You are welcome! I am Seyanna”, responded the girl brightly smiling. I then decided to start small conversation with the girl. Little did I know it would be this incident that would introduce me to the greatest friend I have ever met.

At the time, Seyanna stood at a tiny 4’6” tall compared to my average 4’8” height. She had long curly black hair down to her mid back and a pair of round glasses on her face. Her face was one of an innocent child with a wide smile containing straight, white teeth. Due to her small stature, Seyanna was not one of the kids to be thought capable of having a lot of attitude and independence, but that judgment of her would quickly change one a person got to know her. Eight years later, not much about the appearance of Seyanna has changed. Within the time span, she has only grown five inches, switch out her classes to contacts, and cut her hair up to shoulder

length. She still remains relatively smaller than other kids her own age, but still possesses the “bad girl”...
