Throughout the year, QL continue to encourage healthy activities in their workplace. They have initiated some healthy activities at their corporate head office and they are now taking steps to enroll other operating units throughout Malaysia to take up those programs on an active basis. There are some activities that they have been carried on like keep fit program, healthy diet program, recycling in the workplace, and also energy conservation.

The Board consists of nine members; comprising one independent and non-executive chairman, six executive directors and two independent and non-executive directors. The size and composition of the Board is optimum and well balanced, the directors have wide ranging experience and all have occupied or currently occupying senior positions both in the public and private sectors. The Board has appointed Mr Chieng Ing Huong, Eddy as the senior independent and non-executive director to who concerns may be conveyed.

The Director of the company undergoes training to equip them to effectively discharge its duties as a Director and for that purpose he ensures that he attends such training programmers. All the Directors have completed the Mandatory Accreditation Programmed as specified by Bursa Securities. For the year under review, the Directors have undergone continuous training which they deem relevant to keep abreast on issues facing the changing business environment. There are some training programs, seminar and briefing attended by Directors in 2008/2009 as listed in the QL Resources Bhd’s annual report:
