INTRODUCTION
Profile Group is a financial data and investor information company operating via two main
subsidiaries, namely, Profile Media and ProfileData. The company provides information about
online stock market data and unit trust data. The company comprises of approximately 40
employees and operates in the private sector. This study provides insights on how information
is shared currently in one example organization and what kind of things could be implemented
in order to improve the current situation. The data collection of this study includes experiences
from practical environment as well as data from existing researchers.

1. COMMUNICATION IN THE ORGANISATION
1.1 Formal and Informal networks
Profile Group is comprised of both formal and informal networks. Formal networks present within
the organisation have been set up with a specific goal in mind e.g. regular communications or
meetings between staff representing a particular service or department.
