Reverend C. Dewayne Roberts Senior Pastor, Elim Baptist Church

Augusta, GA

C. Dewayne Roberts is a native of Wayne County, (Jessup, Georgia). Born in 1964 to Mrs. Jeannette Roberts Powell, the step son of Mr. Carroll Powell, Sr., he is the eldest of two other siblings Carroll Powell, Jr. and Jason Powell. On April 24th 1987, he was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Miss Elizabeth Inez Smith of Leesburg, Florida. To this union they were blessed with three children, Danielle, Chris and Jordan and they are the proud grandparents to a granddaughter, Khaniya Jones.

Pastor Roberts is a product of the Wayne County Public Schools graduating in 1982. Following high school, he continued his studies at Brunswick college (Brunswick, GA), majoring in Marketing and Management. He is presently attending Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, GA in pursuit of a Bachelors degree in the field of Leadership and Administration.

Having dedicated his life to Christ in August 1985, Pastor Roberts has made a major impact in both his home church and his community. In August 1987 he acknowledged his call to the gospel ministry. He was licensed to preach and began serving as an associate minister under the leadership of his pastor the late Moderator W. J. Jones. Several months later pastor Roberts was ordained and began serving as the youth pastor and coordinator for his home church. Due to the failing health of the senior pastor, Pastor Roberts graciously and humbly accepted the role as interim pastor for two years. Upon the death of the senior pastor, Pastor Roberts was chosen to serve as pastor.

Under Pastor Roberts’ leadership the church ministry grew tremendously. Realizing that growth is also needed outside the walls of the church he has been active in his community and has been chosen to speak at numerous community assemblies. He has effectively operated in the hierarchy of...
