To Drill or Not to Drill? That is the Question

After reading this paragraph for the assignment, I would have to say that I agree more with President Obama’s view of green jobs and using cleaner fuel suac as solar power and wind to help the environment. The fact is that society needs more jobs so they can support their families, President Obama’s idea making more green jobs is the best way for sociey to get out of the rut they are in. “It also has mandated that energy utilities increase their use of renewable energy sources to 33 percent by 2020. As of 2007, 11.7 percent of the state's energy came from renewable sources. Those stressing the job potential of the green industry predict massive and growing employment. According to a 2007 "Green Collar Jobs" study by the American Solar Energy Society, an industry group, 9 million people were employed in the country that year producing energy from renewable resources and making homes and businesses more energy-efficient” (Times, 2009) . To realize President Obama’s view we need the solar and wind industries to come together. “In fact, it has many industrial policies for solar (and wind) energy. The problem is that they are fragmented, often competitive with each other, and do not add up to either a coherent national industry or energy policy.” (Fitzgerald, 2009). The pocilies need to be changed to incorporate both industries.

When this occurred it had major affects on the wild and ocean life, as well as the people in the surrounding...
