During the working process, whether raw materials can successfully pass through the ring die is often dependent on the factors of effective length and roughness of die hole. The effective length of die hole can be often described by the depth-diameter ratio. For different formula and different pore diameter, the suitable depth-diameter ratio should be different, too. If the effective length of die hole is short, pressure of material in die hole will be small. What’s more, raw materials are easy to be extruded through the ring die. Even though the output of straw pellet mill is high, the pellets produced is still somewhat loose and rough.

On the contrary, if the effective length of die hole is long, pressure of raw materials in the die hole will be great. Correspondingly, the finished pellets produced by will be great in density, good in quality and low in power content. While, based on the long effective length of die hole, output of straw pellet machine will decrease.

In order to avoid the uneven length of pellets, effective length of die holes for all should be consistent for just one ring die. If the aperture of ring die is confirmed, distance between die holes will be small. What’s more, the working efficiency of straw pellet machine will be improved a lot. If the distance between die holes is even, the quality of pellets and output of straw pellet machine will not be problematic.
