Human beings play a vital role in our environment. We as humans try different things to protect our environment but sometimes those things can also harm the environment. It is crazy that we fight each against each other to save our planet but the role that we play to save our environment is not met with the same affect. We are the only ones that can save our planet from others that choose to look at what is happening now and not for the long haul in the future. Regardless of your authority in life, you can make a conscious decision to help the planet.

Several decades ago, the famous Chipko Movement in India was done by villagers. Individuals that had high authority in government had more effect in renewing old laws so that the green cover of the earth was not lost. Many changes in environmental laws were required so that trees which are cut for industrial purposes are only from plantation areas and the forests are not cut down halfheartedly. Strict laws such as fines or even jail time should be enforced against law breakers and individuals that harm the environment. Arrests and fines should be instilled until everyone can help to contribute to the wellness of the environment not to harm it.

Many developments need natural resources so that they can help the environment. Balances must be sought out between demand and supply so that the resources can be replaced and is not completely eliminated. Large areas should be only for plantations and only trees from such areas need to be cut and replanted. Renewable sources of energy are the answers to our problems. The demand for coal has to be reduced by developing new sources of energy like nuclear energy, solar energy and wind energy.

Although a country has every right to do whatever it wants to do with its own resources, it should still be considerate of the environment and the things that grow there. A global outlook has to be taken in account and upheld or disaster could strike. Organizations like UN have to...
