Week 2

I. List the nine types of verb tense and provide an example of each verb – no need to write out an entire sentence for this part. Just the verb will do (and feel free to use the examples in the assigned readings if you need to…). Highlight the verb tenses that use helping verbs.

II. Briefly explain (one sentence) the function of a helping verb – what information does a helping verb provide about the main verb?

The function of a helping verb is to join with the main verb in a sentence to form a complete verb.

III. In the following table, write 9 sentences about financial planning. Each sentence must demonstrate a different verb tense (so, only use each tense once). For each sentence, identify the subject, the verb, and the verb tense demonstrated. In order to receive full credit, you must have included any helping verbs when you identify your verb, too!
