Characters:

Maximus - he is the main character in the movie, he is a great general of Rome in the time of emperor Marcus Aurelius and he is the one that Marcus Aurelius choose to be the heir of the throne but when Commodus killed the former emperor her family was killed because he refuse to serve Commodus the new emperor so he became slave and later on a gladiator. He also has a history with Marcus Aurelius daughter, Lucilla. They had been lovers before Maximus and Lucilla meet their partners.

Commodus - he is the son of Marcus Aurelius and brother of Lucilla, he is a coward and greedy prince that’s why his father choose Maximus instead of him and cause him to kill his own father to be able for to gain. he is person who seek for love to everyone specially to his sister Lucilla and his father and to the people of that’s why he wants a festival all the time because he think that if the people of Rome become happy they will love him.

Lucilla - daughter of Marcus Aurelius and sister of Commodus, she is also the past lover of maximus. In the start of the story Lucilla is a loving sister to her brother, she comforts him when his upset and even remain silent when his brother kill her father but when Commodus become emperor he sees him as a tyrant that need to dethroned but see the threat that her son might be killed by the anger of commodus.

Marcus Aurelius – he is the former emperor of Rome who is tired and who is looking for someone to secure his legacy. He choose Maximus as a next emperor but Maximus refuse while Commodus is stunned and become more jealous to Maximus so he plead to his father but his father only apologize to him for not to be raised as a good man and so Commodus killed him.

Cicero – he is a loyal servant of Maximus even after the death of Marcus Aurelius. He later reappears in the coliseum when Maximus reveal him self, he also help Lucilla I the plan of freeing Maximus and dethroning Commodus but later been killed...
