The U.S. Health Care System under Different Condition

The Health Care System in the United States has evolved and faced significant challenges throughout the years in improving the delivery system and maximizing the quality of care to patients. The system in itself is complex and unique in terms of the process that enables people to have access to healthcare services. With the current struggle of maintaining rising costs, reducing medical errors, training HealthCare professionals and implementing advance electronic medical record systems; There will always be a need to transform the health care system landscape to address unforeseen critical environmental issues and emerging trends. The following will showcase how well the Healthcare system can function under certain environmental conditions.

1. The United States were to have a socialist political and economic orientation;

The current structure of the healthcare system is shaped and based on the political economic climate. Throughout the years, the Health Care systems has fundamentally and predominantly functioned under various systems of model that all work and operate independently. The United States is an industrialized nation that somewhat functions more under an entrepreneurial model that favors a free market economies ideal to generate profit and wealth accumulation. Nevertheless, the recent healthcare change has introduced more inclusive national health care services with many projected mandated plans. In a socialist political orientation, the need for free market ideals will likely not suffice.

A socialist economy can be defined as “a shared ownership of resources and central planning that offer a more equitable distribution of goods and services.
