Introduction

The European Union (EU) is a supreme body which contains 28 member countries. It is classed as supreme due to its foundation being the numerous Treaties and conventions that protect the rights of all entities and beings within the Union. As a member of the EU, individuals and organisations are protected by a supreme form of law which is interpreted and adjudicated by the European Court of Justice (ECJ).
