Report This Essay

Global warming has become the biggest issue of the century. It is the increase in the average global temperature of the Earth and how it is projected to continue. What is alarming is that the increase of temperature is not being caused by nature, but by humanity. The problem is people rely on oil, gas and coal for their energy needs. The fossil fuels release global warming gas carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Global warming is a moral matter. Simply said there are elevated levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels and we must reduce our dependence on fossil fuels if we are to avoid a climate catastrophe. It is our responsibility to assure it doesn’t get to the point where there are enormous consequences such as floods, increased precipitation, rising of sea level and other such factors.

Extreme rainstorms and snowfalls have grown substantially stronger, two studies suggest, with scientist for the first time finding that man- made global warming on downpours that cause deadly flooding. A new report finds that storms with heavy rainfall occur with a 61% higher frequency in El Paso than they were 60 years ago. At this rate what was once considered the downpour of the decade will soon become just another storm if we continue to avoid the impacts of global warming.

Preventing Global warming would be the moral thing to do. It is to the advantage of humanity to address this problem. If nothing is done our earth will change tremendously. Countries will be buried under water. Food shortage will certainly occur. Life as we know it will be changed completely. If there is a way to prevent these disasters from occurring, isn’t it our moral responsibility to do so?
