Read the case study written by Herbert House of the Biology Department at Elon University, Elon, NC. The case copyright is held by the National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science, University at Buffalo, State University of New York, and was originally published in 2005.

Answer all questions in Parts I and II before lab (Wednesday, April 13th). Note that you may have to do some research in order to answer these questions. You must complete this preparatory work in advance; otherwise, your contribution to the team will be limited, and this may be negatively-reflected on your grade. Once in lab, you will be assigned to a group; compare your answers to the preparatory questions.
