TITLE: PRIVATE LIVES OF THE RICH AND FAMOUS SHOULD BE OFF LIMITS

I. Introduction

A. Private lives of the rich and famous has been an attraction or even a common topic to talk about in our everyday lives. Their private lives are always the interesting topic to talk about among public.

B. Renowned people may be rich or famous but they are always being watched by the public for their achievements or even their private lives. Ever since the celebrities made their way to the public faces, their private lives are intruded since then. Their private lives are not ‘private’ as they seem to be because media has its ways to reveal them. It has been a norm that social media tend to reveal their private lives to the public and so, the public are used to getting updates from time to time. It’s just a matter of perspective whether their private lives should be off limits or should not be.

C. Private lives of the rich and famous certainly should be off limits because it puts celebrities and paparazzi’s lives at risk and privacy of celebrities should be respected.

II. Argument

A. Point #1 : It puts celebrities and paparazzi’s lives at risk

1. Renowned people tend to live a safer life when they are not being watched and bugged all the time. Paparazzi tend to intrude famous people’s private lives when it comes to gathering news for the media. This action has always resulted in life safety problem as it promotes self-centered acts in order to gain what they wanted to.

2. Public figure such as Princess Diana was killed as the result of her private life’s being disturbed. “Princess Diana’s death is a reminder that this is more than a celebrity rights issue; it is a public safety issue” (Duarte, 2014). On the other hand, paparazzi faces safety problems as well when it comes to pursuing celebrities’ news. For instance, a paparazzo was killed in car crash as the result out chasing Justin Bieber for exclusive news (Brown, 2013).
