Survey Paper
Throughout the world of business, there are many avenues for drawing in customers and clientele. With the challenges in today’s business markets surrounded by competitors many business are reaching out to public opinion in order to capture the edge within their market(s). In this paper, the discussion will be basis for a specific survey, and the characteristics of the survey.
Approach to Gaining Information
A popular approach to luring in customers and potential clientele is by using surveys and questionnaires. According to McNamara (n.d.), “We need to quickly and/or easily get lots of information from people in a non threatening way (Overview of methods to Collect Information, para.2).” Tailoring surveys and questionnaires to gain specific information can help even the most complex business to solve problems and answer questions. By using such factors as demographics and regions, businesses can pinpoint groups or specific target audiences.
Establishing goals
Businesses make decisions around the globe daily in many aspects on numerous topics. In terms of establishing goals for surveys, it is imperative to model a survey specifically designed to answer questions business members or others may have. For instance, if a company such as a grocery chain is breaking into the petrol market, they may consider surveying the local population to assess the needs and demands of potential customers as well as what type of fuel is appropriate to sell while still gaining profits. The reason questions as such are so important is to gain a particular overview of relevant information for answering the problem. The goal of this survey is just that, the basis for deciding whether it would be profitable to expand within the petrol market as a large grocery chain or to not enter and remain a bystander with a single fuel station contract.
