Under Armour is a performance branded company, which manufactures and distributes performance branded apparel, footwear, and accessories for men, women, and youth.. Under armour in located primarily in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia-pacific, and Latin America. The company was founded in 1996 by Kevin plank, who ran the company from his grandmother’s basement at the time. He initially sold special material clothing to sports teams around the country to help give the company its start. This special material clothing absorbed sweat without weighing the athlete down. This type of athletic clothing grew popular which gave the company a rise to fame and allowed it to be a competitor which other corporations such as Nike and Adidas. Under Armour shows steady growth throughout the last few years showing that the company is improving, UA has also been launching new products constantly and has a large consumer base. Although Under Armour is doing well it sill has some weaknesses, the company has yet to establish itself around the world, doesn’t manufacture its own goods and is overshadowed by bigger corporations such as Nike. Under armour has benefited from the industrial revolution by using the factory system, machines, and manufacturing methods in order to increase productivity. Under armour shows nationalism by being present in many countries around the world and interacting with athletes and consumers of all types. Although Under Armour isn’t the biggest performance corporation in the whole world it is still present in many companies across the world and are growing.
