By earning a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, I have gained an understanding of the public aspects of administration and the fiduciary responsibility of what is right for the public as a whole. However, earning an MBA degree in addition to my MPA would provide me with a more holistic perspective of administration. Subjects such as financial management, supply and demand, and organizational structure have always fascinated me.

Though The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) MBA program is well known for its prestige and successful graduates, I chose this institution because of the influential experiences that I have encountered throughout my academic stint at this university. My involvement in business classes such as accounting, financial management, and budgeting has influenced me greatly in choosing UTK for my MBA endeavors.

As it pertains to goals, I let the process of achieving my short-term and long-term goals remain flexible amid a structured outline of my aspirations. I developed this ideology because the future is never guaranteed, and as a result, allowing flexibility in one’s plans allows for more career options. After earning a dual JD/MBA degree from UTK, I plan to start a career in corporate law. From a longer perspective, I aspire to making partner in a law firm or becoming a top executive in a well respective business. In order to reach both of the aforementioned goals, I must stay motivated and continue my learning experiences both in and out of the classroom.

While working for Circuit City for many years, I have had the pleasure to work in many different areas of the company. One of the most challenging areas was the position of department leader.
