2. It seems that ever since USGA begin to place limitations on the sport competition has grown, as manufactures race to get the newly adjusted “USGA Approved” equipment out to players. The competition in the industry in another sense is fierce since the growth has stagnated. Now manufactures are fighting to snatch up new players to endorse, but slimming of potential doesn’t a fuel opportunity to use players drive the industry up. Yes and no, the potential players mostly start off with the least expensive brands that are purchased at discount stores, and this enables competitive force for newcomers to make entry and be successful. For the pros, their expertise is their guidance to shopping for good equipment so the high-end manufactures would be more appeal due to how the pros look at things like: the surface area; USGA regulated approval; and the differences in grips. In a nutshell the pace of entry is not really becoming intense because as mentioned in the “Question 1” the game is losing players due to limitations and appeal.

3. The golf equipment industry evolved greatly while noticing the changes have been as a benefit for some and also a loss for others. For instance the regulations USGA applied to technology and the way equipment is produced really stimulated the industry greatly. For those who were unable to benefit from the hybrid—Callaway Golf Company—suffered financial gains, so not being adaptable to the industry caused some to incline in the industry. The pro industry is slow to change due to the criteria established to be in compliance with, but the recreational side could have a great impact if it ventured out to advance the game in way the pro industry may not follow. Thus, the pro industry would have to follow because there is a demand and appeal of what is being done in recreational, since they are the true sponsors of the sport key word “fan”.
