One of the most common known Food borne illnesses is salmonella. Salmonella is a type of food poisoning. That means salmonella is more commonly transmitted through things that we ingest into our body. Salmonellosis food poisoning is cause by the bacteria genus Salmonella. This food poisoning results in the swelling of the lining of the stomach and intestines. The bacteria Salmonella is mostly in domestic and wild animals. The bacteria Salmonella is said to have been around since the beginning of living organisms. With that being said it is no wonder why it is a while and domesticated animals. The bacteria can also be in contaminated water. The disease was also first discovered by a veterinarian surgeon who studied animal diseases in the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Foods with animal meat and pets are the main carriers of the bacteria Salmonella. So it is good to be cautious when handling things that has to do with animals and contaminate water.

Salmonella food poisoning is mostly transmitted through eating or drinking something has the bacteria in it. That is one of the reasons why salmonella food poisoning is more widely known in common. The way that salmonella can be transmitted are very comment and avoidable mistakes. One way is eating undercooked or raw chicken or eggs. Chickens are the major carrier of the bacteria. So eating anything from them that is raw is not a very good idea. Drinking contaminated water or spoiled milk can also cause the food poisoning. Salmonella is called food poisoning so basically eating anything with salmonella in it is bad. You are essentially eating poising food so it is best to avoid anything that has not been cooked or handled properly. Another way for the disease to be transmitted is if you are handling any pets that is carrying the disease. Salmonella is mostly in the feces of most common pets.
