We no longer live in the era of conquerors, and the story of Homer merely resonates within the walls of the classroom. The times have changed indeed, and if Alexander the Great were still alive, seeing everything that’s happening to the world with his own eyes, would he have wished to be born in the period of Hellenism instead? Perhaps, and there is a purpose to the life that he lived. His determination to live a life well-lived was not put to waste, because centuries later, we are able to discover the true essence of leadership.

This paper will aim to present Alexander the Great, his achievements and actions as a classical sculpture of effective management. As a truly great leader, he is one of the best models of leadership in this avant-garde existence.

Flexible Mindset

One of the noticeable realizations in this course is that a manager must possess a flexible mindset. This is the most optimum attitude that general managers must acquire, which will prove to be most beneficial in dealing with issues and in reaching the most favorable decision.

Alexander the Great fought four great battles and a dozen of skirmishes. He has been considered as one of the wealthiest people in history, despite persevering with his campaign for 10 successive years. On hindsight, he also shared his army’s hardships, as he fought on the frontline. Given his famous success, one of the greatest traits he possessed was having a broad and focused outlook.
