4PA3 Case Exam Notes
1. Your role
* Use only a few lines
* Be as brief as possible
2. Include things on the Diamond E at your own discretion
* Some of it may not be applicable
* If you don't include it, the TA will assume that its not important
3. Organizational performance
* Make a chart with your ratios, its equation and explanation
* Explanations should be within the chart
* Make sure to give a rating and explain why
* Always have a concluding sentence for your tables
4. Organizational health
* List 3 or 4 issues and their measures
5. Show which quadrant the business is in
* Explain why they are in the quadrant
* Where were they before, where they are now, where will they be in the future
* Suggest improvements
* Everything you are writing now leads to the alternatives
6. Resource Analysis
* Only do the chart
* Identify resource requirements
* Only list the ones that are relevant
* Have a gap closing analysis
* What they should do with their resources to close the gap between them and their goals
* Conclusion
* List implications of the gaps
7. PEEST
* Case may not include all of PEEST
8. Developing Alternatives
* Do external research
* Sometimes finding out what the company really did will help you think of alternatives
* Don't copy it entirely obviously
* Give pros and cons of each alternative before the decision criteria table
* Use a scale with a multiplier to rank the criteria's importance
* Percentages and points should add up to 100
* Have 4 alternatives and 1 "Do Nothing" (5 in total)
