Fossil Fuel versus alternative energy

The price of fuel has risen since 1996, when the price of gasoline was 80 cents a gallon during one summer in Pomona California. In 2011 the average price for gasoline in the state of Hawaii is four dollars a gallon. The dependence and demand for foreign oil is at all time high for the United States. The United States of America would benefit greatly by using ethanol, solar energy from the sun, and wind turbines for alternative and reusable energy. Drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska would be very expensive for both the consumer and company drilling for oil.

The most common source for energy comes from fossil fuel, which electricity powers vehicles such as boats, airplanes and, auto mobiles that can take people anywhere in the world. America is too dependent on the auto mobile to do daily tasks such as being able to arrive at work and run errands. Driving and auto mobile is a luxury compared to the alternative of riding the bus or train. Instead of riding with other people and waiting longer to get to a destination, one has an option to be in their own personal space along with air conditioning, music to listen to and arrive at the destination faster than a bus or train.

The benefits of using a bus or train would be less fuel used for transportation from point A to B. Instead of one person to one vehicle consuming mass amounts of fossil fuel used, and 30 people to one vehicle would reduce the amount of fossil fuel consumption. To use the luxury of an auto mobile is a very hard item to give up. America uses large amounts of fossil fuel for such luxuries that result in the dependence of foreign oil, and to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. Pushing for alternative energy recourses such as hydrogen batteries and ethanol is a must have if America wants to enjoy the luxury of auto mobiles. Sooner or later fuel will be so...
