United States should find other means for energy because the cost of importing oil and other fossil fuels is becoming increasingly high AND environment would pay the heaviest expense. Being that the United States has no real means of producing mass quantities of fossil fuels (even though there are oil and natural gas reserves in the country), we have to import these particular goods from other countries. The costs of importing these goods are getting higher and higher. To reduce the cost of importing these goods and consumption of them, I think that the U.S. should become more dependent on their own means of producing energy. Solar panels, wind farms, and hydroelectric power plants are just a few alternatives to fossil fuel consumption.

I do not have any real issues that are hindering my thinking on this issue because I feel that I have a valid point to what I am saying. The only thing that could be influencing my stand on this issue is the long term effects the issue will have on the environment and who the real winner would be in this situation (businessmen that are tied into these investments.) If the United States starts looking for these natural resources in our country, a heavier price will eventually be paid, mainly at the expense of our environment. I believe that the United States has the means to produce man-made energy now on a larger scale (nuclear energy, wind farms, solar panels, etc.), but due to the fact that people make extremely large amounts of money off of the buying and selling of these resources, the likelihood of man-made energy being a primary source of energy now is unlikely.

It is hard to say what I can do to change the way I am thinking on this particular issue because I am looking at it based on who benefits the most from this. Eventually, these resources will run out, that is why I believe that it is important that we begin to find other means of energy now rather than later. On issues such as these, I am rather firm on my opinion....
