Genetic Engineering is the scientific procedure of altering the DNA in living organisms. It is the artificial addition, removal or rearrangement of genetic sequences to obtain advantageous results. This technology includes methods like gene therapy, the replacement of defective genes with healthy genes, production of identical genetic copies, commonly known as cloning and gene splicing, which is the genetic modification of crops by inserting the genetic material of a natural insecticide or vitamins. In today’s world genetic engineering is alleged to be banned and people protest that it should not be supported by the government. However, there are many reasons that genetic engineering can be beneficial to society medical purposes and improvement of foods and farming, and therefore it deserves to be considered ethical.

Genetic engineering has many beneficial aspects that can contribute to the betterment of society. A very commonly used process by families is gene therapy. In this method, genes can be inserted into a developing embryo. The main goal of the alterations of certain genes is the prevention of disease. Geneticists can slot in a set of artificial genes into the embryo to reduce the occurrence of mishaps like cancer, tumors, Down syndrome, etc. Genetic Engineering can also help to human health. This involves the production of life saving antibiotics, usually through the use of gene drugs. This can assist a patient in using their own bodily substances to rebuild, repair and permanently become resistant to certain. Another advantage of genetic engineering is its potential as a method of growing replacement organs.
