Code of Conduct

The success of Happy Dog’s is directly related to the company and employees following the code of conduct. As a company, we pride ourselves on maintaining a high moral by making sure that each decision is ethical and every law is followed.

Happy Dog’s has a zero tolerance policy on harassment. Each employee has a duty to report any harassment to human resources. Harassment can be unwanted advances, inappropriate jokes and comments, or intimidation. Although these are just examples, harassment can cover a wide range of offensive behavior. Every employee has the right to a safe and harassment free workplace.

Workplace discipline will not be handled on a case-by-case basis. At Happy Dog’s, we feel that this would set a precedence by allowing certain employees to receive special treatment. The discipline process will be: First offense is a verbal warning. Second offense is a written reprimand. Third offense is termination. We feel that this is fair for every employee.

At Happy Dog’s, we want to ensure that employees understand that family is very important. Our company follows federal law that mandates that FMLA can be used for family and medical issues. Leave of absences are available to every employee up to 6 months at a time but these are unpaid periods of time. We also offer free counseling for every employee as long as it does not interfere with work hours.
