British American Tobacco Company is the second largest tobacco company in the world, in terms of revenue and profits. BAT currently possess 13% of the global tobacco market share after Philip Morris International’s 16%. BAT currently has 49cigraettes factories in operations across the 41 countries of the world. BAT has a diverse portfolio of 300 brands which consists of its 4 premium brands (Kent, Dunhill, Lucky Strike and Pall Mall) which are sold in more than 180 countries of the world. However apart from readymade cigarettes BAT’s portfolio also includes various type of other products like cigars, roll-your-own and pipe tobacco.

Unlike other companies BAT operates under heavy rules and regulations and a strict code of conduct especially across the USA and EU regions and thus uses a very unique style of marketing its brands, which are yet very effective and have contributed significantly towards the growth of BAT in recent years.

British American Tobacco p.l.c., through its subsidiaries, engages in the manufacture, distribution, and sale of tobacco products. The company offers cigars and cigarettes under the Dunhill, Kent, Lucky Strike, Pall Mall, Vogue, Viceroy, Rothmans, Kool, Benson & Hedges, State Express 555, Peter Stuyvesant, and John Player Gold Leaf brand names. It also sells Swedish-style snus, a form of smokeless tobacco. Markets The company has operations in Europe, the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and America-Pacific. Significant Events On July 13, 2009, Accenture Inc. signed co-sourcing contract with British American Tobacco plc under the agreement, Accenture and British American Tobacco would jointly design a range of applications for British American Tobacco's functions, including finance, supply chain, sales and marketing, with Accenture developing these applications for global, regional and local use.
