What I am doing in College

Everyone goes to college for different reasons, the reason that I am going to college is because my parents want me to go. My parents have done so much for me and by not going to college, something that is so important to them I would feel horrible by letting them down. If I do not go to college my parents would kick me out and would not help to support me. College is the last place I want to be right now but, it’s what my parents want me to do.

Going to school is one of the last things I want to be doing right now, but, it is one of the best things I could be doing to better myself. One of the most important things a person can do to better themselves is to get a college education. However, t he stress of working and going to school is getting to me. If I am not at school, I am either studying or at work, leaving me with very little free time to myself to relax, hang out with friends, and party.

Even though I want to take time off to relax and be free of all responsibilities my parents have given me the opportunity that won’t last forever, a free college education. Even though I dread being a full time student, it is one of the best things I could be doing for myself. Not many people get the chance to go to college and not pay a single penny. My mother and father pay for what my bright futures does not cover, such as books, fees, and part of my tuition. My parents want the best for me. They want me to get a good education so that I have a clear path to a career that will enable me to afford a comfortable lifestyle.

If I drop out of school now, I stand a chance of losing the one scholarship I have and my parent’s checkbook. I don’t know when I would go back to school. To return back to college at a later date would be more costly than it is now. The amount of money I could make by finishing college with a degree as opposed to dropping out of school now would be a vast difference.

I feel blessed for the life my parents have given...
