Reduce your carbon footprint: Commitment or Agreement

First of all I wanted to say that I am quite worried about what we are doing to the planet and to all living species on it, we have been gifted with the ability to change and modify the space where we live and either way improve or worse the state of things. We are that proud of the advances we reached in terms of technology and science but unfortunately the benefits of these successes are being exploded irresponsibly for companies that even though they know what is the damage they are doing to the nature they put the profits over the environment.

Every day we hear in the news at least of one event where the contamination is the principal subject and it happens at remote places of the world, where the laws and authorities have no or little power and they can be bribed or even worst they expect to get some money in exchange to let it happen. When they should be first ones to protect the nature and ensure its integrity. Also, if we pollute streams, rivers, forests, mountains and other natural resources, the plants and animals that live there die. We destroy their ecosystem. This significantly affects the quality of the surrounding area and does have an effect on the world as a whole. The more this happens, the worse off our world's environment becomes. The majority of our water is currently purified naturally in the hydrological cycle. If we contaminate our water, we will have to spend much more for each gallon of purified water than we currently do. What nature does for free costs us at least a dollar a gallon. The air is being affected as well that in some big cities such as Mexico D.F. and Beijing in China where the air is almost impossible to breathe. If water and air becomes more polluted they lose its value to us and later turn out a threat to our health and to the survival of the living species and the wildlife that depends on them.
