Module Learning Outcomes

Transferable skills

Communication

Students will demonstrate an ability to communicate through producing a detailed written report based on a given case study. This work can be used as evidence in the development of the student Personal Development File.

Assignment Remit

This is an individual assignment that involves producing a 2,000 word- processed report. The report will be based on a given case study. Students will be given the assignment and case study in the seminar hour week 1.

Students are expected to refer to other sources of information and not just rely on the case study material given out in class. All work must be referenced appropriately.

Assigned Task

The report should address the following:

a) Provide an overview of the case study organisation. Amongst other things students will need to identify its size (turnover outlets employees etc) type of ownership, the types of product they sell, how food is delivered to the customer, the sector of the economy it trades in and its main competitors.

b) Identify the challenges that the organisation faces when...
