Indeed, faith can move mountains. The video uploaded by a YouTube user, My Redeemer Lives, is an example proving that faith can surpass impossible things you can think of. Faith on God, faith on others, or faith on oneself can do wonders and miracles if only you believe and even if there’s no proof to be seen.

In the video, a father with a heart disease grants his son, who’s diagnosed with having cerebral palsy, of his wishes to run a rough triathlon called “Iron Man” who must surpass a route of 4 km of swimming, 180 km of biking and 12 km of running. The son asks his father to join the marathon with him and without hesitation and doubt, the father agrees. This is such a very touching scene of having faith on oneself. Though at first, he knew that it is impossible for him who is already old and frail and who’s suffering with a heart disease and how would he be able to do that especially with his son who was also suffering with cerebral palsy.

But still and despite all the unfortunate and negative things regarding their physical aspect, the father still believed in himself and in his son that they could do it together especially when they knew deep in their hearts and minds that Jesus is with them. And this is something which is much stronger than any physical means of power. They believed, especially the father, that Jesus lives in them, giving them strength to do it, will to continue, and determination to surpass what seems impossible.

As I reflect on this, it inspires me to pursue whatever my dreams and aspirations are even if it is the most impossible thing to do. If only I would believe that I can do it with my real best and I would believe that Jesus will never abandon me even amidst all the storms in life brought by trials and challenges. And of course, I would also have faith on my loved ones who are always there to support me and to tell me that I must go on even after all the countless failures and setbacks.
