While Reagan was president and even after he was out of office his conservative politics stimulated the United States economy. Reagan had three main pieces to his politics. He wanted to lower how much was being spent in social programs, he wanted to spend more money in defense, and he wanted to cut the taxes. With these three policies in place they became known as the Reaganomics. With they did was bring stimulation to our economy.

While running for office Reagan promised the people of the United States that if he was elected as president that he would cut the taxes. Even democrats were voting more conservative and became known by the name Reagan Democrats. These democrats played an important role when it came to the conservative politics getting approved. Reagan believed that by cutting the taxes on the people who were more fortunate than others it would create more jobs for people. On the other hand if the taxes were raised then the people that had money would have to stop hiring people which meant there were not going to be jobs available for people. So the tax increase would really help out everyone not just the people with money, so this really stimulated the U.S. economy. After this people started spending more money because they had more money to spend and business started growing. The things that Reagan put into place back then still had benefits that affected people twenty years later.

In the 1980’s one of Reagan politics lead to an economic prosperity. The rate of military spending was increased, which help to bankrupt the Soviet Union. When that country was not able to compete with the U.S. then it created a lot of job openings for people which lead to the country being able to spend more money which is always a good thing.
