ShenZhen and Exeter

Throughout a great deal of the world people live or study abroad and two of the popular cities are ShenZhen in China and Exeter in UK. Each is a metropolis and a cultural,educational,economic city in their own country. However, many people have a strong preference for either ShenZhen or Exeter and I will compare and contrast two typical cities about which is better in this essay.

There are four main similarities to describe ShenZhen and Exeter. Firstly,both ShenZhen and Exeter provide a comfortable and clean living environment that makes surroundings appropriate for people to live. For example, people may stroll along parkways which is very leisurely and carefree. Secondly, the people who live in the two cities are both very friendly and hospitable. They always love to give a hand to those people who need help. Moreover, it is widely accepted that ShenZhen is known as a gourmet paradie, Exeter is,too. There are many kinds of food in the two cities. For instance,Chinese food,Thai food and Italian food. Lastly, although the two cities are situated in different countries, they still attract a host of foreigners to live or study. Therefore, ShenZhen is a international city, just as Exeter is.

Despite these similarities,there are several differences between ShenZhen and Exeter. First of all, one of the ways in which they differ is the history. ShenZhen is a young city that has been established for 30 years,whereas Exeter has long history and it is a time-honoured city. ShenZhen is a modern city now, but it has experienced earth-shattering changes in the last 30 years. The skyscrapers and boulevards are everywhere in ShenZhen. By contrast, Exeter has both medieval style architecture and modern skyscrapers which makes the city a perfect combination of rich culture and modern technology . In addition, ShenZhen has about 9 million population even though it has a good environment. And ShenZhen is a city packed with cars in rush hour as well....
