We the town council's steering committee on energy are being tasked to investigate the viability of Biomass fuel production. The goal of the Kaplanville city steering committee is exploring the advantages and disadvantages of biomass energy on the city’s future fuel consumption, conservation and even possibly production over the next 20 years.

The term "biomass" is indicative of any organic matter, available on a renewable basis. The energy derived from biomass is also known as bioenergy. Bioenergy is derived from the trees, grasses, agricultural residue and even algae. Bioengery can also derive from the waste material of animals too. For instance, cattle, horses and even people through the sewage systems of our great municipalities. Bioenergy produces bio power, bio products, and biofuels. Biofuels produces cellulosic ethanol, renewable gasoline, advanced jet fuel, and renewable diesel. Bio products made through chemical processing of biomass include glues, cleaners, solvents, and plastics.

The primary budgeting way to produce biofuels is through integrated bio refineries, where the biomass can be converted into Biofuels and high-value bio products. Communities having large tracts of vacant, abandoned and available land for industrial use and storage might want to consider a biomass or biofuel production plant in their own community. The “Green Jobs” investment program in President Obama’s Stimulus Package is helping to jump start new Biomass companies in communities all over the world. “There are twenty six different agencies that offer over 1,000 grant programs. The grants that apply to Green Building are mostly offered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services” (Greenbuildingcompanies.com, 2011). To transport large volumes of biofuels into major markets, for instance, we need an efficient distribution infrastructure to serve the public across the entire nation.

The Biomass Program that will provide an elevation in bioenergy consumption will...
