We here at Stovall Home Products are happy to hear that you have chosen our product for your house hold. However, we are sorry to hear about your misfortune with our product and apologize for damage to your Sportique jacket. Stovall’s fundamental goal is to enhance customers’ positive opinions of our company, products, and service so that we keep our excellent reputation and market leadership. This is because we caution our consumers about non-bleachable finishes and treatments. I had a meeting with several of our Section Managers about your situation. Our Laundry Lab manager has informed me that our White-n-Brite label tells the consumer to follow garment care tags before using bleach. The label also makes it very clear that our bleach cannot be used as a local spot remover. Then I got to speak with a representative from SporTTogs, he has told me that that particular line of coats is made of a cotton-polyester blend. It is treated with a resin-based, stain-resistant finish that’s not compatible with either dry or liquid bleaches. The care tag actually states “Wash in cold water, delicate cycle. Dry permanent press. Do not bleach.” Stovall’s lab has found a solution that may be successful in getting that stain out of your garment. The solution is as follows; use one gallon of cold water, half a cup of white vinegar, and two tablespoons of sodium sulfate and mix thoroughly. Add this solution “AFTER” immersing the entire garment for about 20 minutes. You can then rinse by running it through the washing machine’s rinse cycle with water or just rinse by hand. Repeat this process again if needed. Hanging the jacket up to drip dry is the preferred method for drying the garment.
