GLOBALIZATION HAS A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON THE U.S. CONSUMER
Globalization has several meanings, one being to basically blend together different societies or countries, which can be technologically, politically, and or economically blended together. There are also several different stances one could take on the effects of globalization. It all depends on one’s place in society and country. For the United States consumer, globalization has a positive effect. Some things that could positively come out of globalization may be better regarding furthering the structure of the U.S. economy, building better relationships amongst other countries, and helping better the quality of other countries. This could also be a strong effect on those countries that are considered poor.
Even though it seems that it would be more patriotic to have Americans perform American services and produce American products, it could also be very costly for us as an economy here in the U.S. The outsourcing by American companies helps us build the economy by lowering the cost to produce common products and services by countries such as Japan, China, and India. As Americans would understand the expectations of fellow Americans when producing a product, outsourcing would help to build an understanding between nations and help to combine ideas and knowledge of two or more nations to move forward in production and services. Globalization can be seen as positive, simply because the American consumer can get products and services for cheaper than they would have if U.S. companies were paying Americans to do the labor. Due to products and services being cheaper, Americans would be able to buy more for less. Therefore, they would be able to spend their money on other products and or services for pleasure or even to expand their businesses. By expanding businesses in the U.S. it would be an addition to the building of the U.S. economy.
