New 19 Inch Touch Screen Monitors Allow Use With Gloves | Caltron Industries
1888 PressRelease Caltron announces new 19" touch screen monitors with PCap technology allowing people
wearing gloves to interface with equipment screens. Learn more.
FREMONT, CA Thanks to a breakthrough from Caltron Industries, gloved workers in the medical and
industrial sectors will now be able to use touchscreen monitors more efficiently than before. Caltron
Industries' new, 19inch LBT1904OC and HBT1904OC monitors feature full touchresponsive features that
work with or without gloves.
PCap, also known as "projected capacitive", is a touchscreen technology widely used in smartphones and
tablets. With the introduction of the LBT1904OC and the HBT1904OC monitors, a highly responsive version
of PCap is now available for applications in medical offices, hospitals, or factories, where users commonly
wear gloves while working on computers.
Before Caltron Industries' technical breakthrough, PCap was unresponsive for users wearing gloves,
requiring people to remove gloves before interfacing with the equipment. Or the other solution was to
provide a less reliable and less flexible mechanical button interface.
The LBT1904OC and the HBT1904OC also feature advances in PCap's noise immunity. The problem of
static electricity or other "noise" from nearby electronic equipment affecting performance has been solved.
These largescreen monitors perform consistently and without interruption, regardless of setting.
Some LBT1904O and the HBT1904O versions offer the options of either surfaceacoustic wave (SAW) or
resistive singletouch technology, as well.
In addition to its PCap breakthroughs, Caltron's newest touchscreen monitors offer better visibility in
