Background Information
Goodman Company is a small single plant business which consists of about 40 employees. It produces small rubber automotive parts which are sold exclusively to assembly plants for the production of new vehicles. The company is owned by Mr. Robert Goodman and is managed by Mr. Joe Smith. Recently, Goodman Company had some growth within the organization, this can be seen in one, the number of increased orders it has had over the past three months which prompted them to implement a six-day working week. In addition to that, the company had to introduce a third shift with which to meet with the rising demands of the automobile industry.
Although, there has been some growth within the company expansion has been retarded due to a lack of capital within the organization. This therefore has limited their ability to construct a second facility and to purchase advance equipment. In his effort to create even further growth and productivity, Mr. Goodman has hired the services of a very skilled and qualified production analyst, Ms. Ann Bennet.
Environmental Factors
Lack of competition (external factors) this usually helps a company to become more innovative and progress.
Economic factors
Insufficient Capital, therefore the company cannot expand and/or upgrade their equipment.

The ages of workers vary greatly.

New equipment would help with productivity.
