How to Let Someone Go

After spending what might seem like a lifetime with someone, you come to the realization that there are reasons that you have to let them go. There are in our lifetime, many reasons to let someone go, and for various reasons. It might have been caused by the death of a loved one, or perhaps the breakup of a relationship gone sour. One of the most difficult is letting go of a child as they go off to college. Life as you have known it will no longer be the same. Letting go of a life as you have known it, and accepting the changes that come with it, is difficult and can at times, be quite painful. However each of us face having to Let Someone Go at some time in our lifetime.

1. Realize that the death of a spouse, is one of the easiest ways to let someone go because there is no choice and no decisions to make.

2. Cry because the pain is great, or smile, because of the relief of them not being here anymore to cause pain. Either way, one has to let go of the life that had been shared for a lifetime.

3. Go on with your life alone - eat alone, sleep alone, be alone once the door is closed from the outside world.

4. Look forward to the future but do not dwell on the past. Take one step at a time towards creating and living a new life.

5. Look around, and say goodbye to the times you had, and the pictures that you took. Store them away so that they will remain, and begin to start a new book, a new part of your new life.

6. Find new friends, new things to do, look to the future, and accept the past as being just that - the past stored away as a memory and open a new page in the book of your life.

7. Let go and go on to a future that will not be the same, but might even be even better once you let go and realize that they are no longer with you.
