his report has been prepared as a partial requirement of BBA program. After the completion of 40 courses a student has to complete a 10-week organizational attachment. So after completion of 12-week organizational attachment at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) this report has been prepared.
Standard Chartered Bank is the leading multinational bank in this country. To maintain its leading position in the Bangladesh, SCB is always keen to develop long-term beneficial relationship with trustworthy clients. To achieve this end, they have always upgraded their approaches to achieve profitability. It is a powerful tool to price the customers according to their standing and risk grade. But from September 2000 this approach has been replaced by value added framework. Corporate Deal Analyzer is a tool used in this approach. This tool is designed as such to reflect the changes the in present framework. It is a MS-Excel based software that makes analysis of annualized value addition, expected loss and other necessary aspects of a deal made with corporate clients. Consequently decision-making process is greatly facilitated.
Banking Industry-Overview
The Banking Industry is Bangladesh is one characterized by strict regulations and monitoring from the central governing body, the Bangladesh Bank. The chief concern is that currently there are far too many banks for the market to sustain. As a result, the market will only accommodate only those banks that can transpire as the most competitive and profitable ones in the future.
